16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This was a command to all that believe and follow Christ, not a gift
If you were going on a long trip and weren't going to see your loved ones for a long time and you left the family business in their hands to look after I'm thinking your final instruction to them as you left the building would be of some important's.
What was it that Jesus asked us to do just before he departed this planet and ascended into heaven, do you think it may have been important, do you think it should be high on our agenda or do you think the agenda of Jesus isn't important today as it was then ?
In the name of Jesus, what is your personal focus, what is your Sunday churches focus and agenda, is making disciples at the top of their list, is it even on their list?
"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" Luke 12:34
The love of money is the root of all evil 1 timothy 6:10
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the tithe and it does us good to do so, however it is not a command and its hardly something that should be a focus on or high on the agenda for the Kingdom, Jesus surely didn't want his people and kingdom to be caught up in the need or the love of money, he doesn't need it or need us to be in need of it, it's not in his economy, his economy is in the souls of the individual, yet today our mega churches can not live without it, can we be Christians without this huge set up, can people fall in love without a rock concert or shining lights in a huge state of the art temple that cost millions in tithes, how do you think Jesus conducted Church when he walked the earth, how do you think he would do it today.
I doubt it would look anything like it does
